It’s easy to tell someone that they have a little mustard on their chin from that jumbo hotdog.
Or to tell someone that they have a piece of spinach in their teeth.
But after 11 years in this industry, and the same with Corporate Business Systems, I still have a hard time explaining to a business owner that the decision to go with another company, soley based on price, is a bad decision by following it up with,,,,Why. The stories that I hear from proprietors would amaze you. Lack of customer support, serial number swap, down time, billing errors, even sending your local dollars to a company in Oklahoma. Sure, all businesses have their problems. But to have the same problem over and over again is inexcusable.
I work with some of the best peole in the industry. An accounting department led by the lastest winner of the 20 under thirty to a service team where every single tech is certified by Savin or Kyocera Mita.
Maybe that’s why I don’t feel the need to elaborate on why some decisions should not be made entirely of price. Remember, you get what you pay for.
So next time I am in front of a client and they say, “but the other guys are cheaper”, I’ll just respond…..”You got a little mustard on your lip”
