At Corporate Business Systems (CBS) we do more than sell and service Multi-Functional Products (MFP’s). We educate corporations on their output strategies. Through Managed Print Services (MPS) we can share total monthly volumes and using average cost per page find a total monthly cost.  MPS teaches a corporation to adjust behavior, use the right equipment for the right environment, and how to save money.

I’ve done two MPS assessments and both times CBS was able to save money for the prospected client. One is a hospital.  The hospital had 60 output devices. More than 45% of all output was sent to a desktop printer. We offered a solution that would decrease the amount of desktop printers, thus eliminating the cost and time spent. We were able to balance the volume to only 10% of the output going to a desktop printer.

We were able to do this with accurate placing of MFP’s and also slightly changing people’s habits. We added one color MFP at a place where the HP inkjets were running high volumes. That eliminates the need for the HP’s.  Also, we added inner job separators to every system dividing incoming faxes and prints. This will help to stay organized at the MFP. It is not necessary to change behavior to save money, but in this case a few slight changes can save 20-30%.

After an MPS walkthrough there is a lot of data that needs to be analyzed and then placed into a presentation. MPS can take a lot of time, but it builds credibility in the eyes of the prospected client. Not only are we selling and servicing MFP’s, but we are placing a total document strategy. MPS teaches a corporation to adjust behavior, use the right equipment for the right environment, and how to save money.
