A widely held cultural value is the joy in giving – be it gifts, donations, or effort, much of the culture we live in thrives on giving to others. We here at Corporate Business Systems uphold that value and do everything we can to give back to our community in many ways. Some of the ways we give to non-profits and charities include print donations, money donations, service time, and even copiers or other machines. Tyson Johns, our President, states that,

“Our main goal is to do anything we can to provide or reduce their costs and allow non-profits to focus and spend more on their mission.”

Employees here have the opportunity to spend a paid four hours yearly to volunteer however they see fit, and also offer sponsorships to serve in different organizations. Tracy Powell, our Lease Coordinator, is sponsored by Corporate Business Systems to serve with the local Sertoma Club. “Sertoma stands for Service to Mankind,” said Tracy. “Their biggest charity is Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, however we also give our time and efforts to many other non-profits.”

As the Ice Bucket Challenge swept the nation into a chilly, charitable frenzy, Corporate Business Systems teams at a couple of branches stood in support and donated to the cause earlier this year. We decided to make it fun for our Facebook followers and donate one dollar for every like we received on the video posting. The video got 2,900 video views and 471 likes, resulting in Corporate Business Systems writing a $471.00 check that was presented at the Springfield Walk to Defeat ALS.

A very recent example of how our Springfield branch is looking to volunteer for the holidays is at the 39th annual Developmental Center of the Ozarks (DCO) Gift Wrap Booth on December 15th. A team of Corporate Business Systems employees will be wrapping gifts during the day for those willing to donate to the DCO at Battlefield Mall. We are proud to be serving a long-standing volunteer effort.

As we have many machines on hand that are capable of high-quality prints, Corporate Business Systems provides organizations with copies of their programs, event fliers, posters, and practically anything they need in large batches. Examples include Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks’ 30-Year Anniversary cards, fliers for the Springfield Ballet’s Nutcracker production, and tree labels for the Wildcat Glades Conservation & Audubon Center in Joplin.

Our purpose statement is, “Enhancing our community by providing solutions today that make your tomorrow better.” And this reflects our vision for CBS’ philanthropic efforts perfectly.
